Based on ADF categorisation, the member may be entitled to one of the following accommodation entitlements when posted to a new location:
DHA provides housing services for Defence members and their families. They will support members throughout a tenancy from moving in, living in, and moving out of their home.
DHA will help with: finding and securing a Defence home using DHA’s online HomeFind tool; housing entitlements, including Rent Allowance or Living In Accommodation and arrange DHA housing maintenance requirements.
DHA does not help members find rental properties but there are plenty of online rental websites to assist members without the need for visiting the new location to look for them.
Toll Transitions has been appointed by the Department of Defence to provide ADF members and families with a relocation service when a member is posted or relocates.
A Toll Transitions Case Manager will assist Defence Families with organising all your relocation requirements, including:
Defence has a dedicated DRHM based in each region responsible for ensuring DHA and Toll comply with Defence contracts.
They provide relocation and housing advice. DRHMs can resolve difficulties experienced regarding housing provision, maintenance, allocation itinerary management and removals.
They also provide advocacy on behalf of members and their families to resolve disputes with
DHA or Toll Transitions regarding the provision of removal and housing services.
