The ADF member has all medical services organised and paid for by the ADF including dental care, hospital accommodation, ambulance transport and mental health support.
Some members may wish to top-up the cover with private health insurance for services like cosmetic dentistry.
Recognised dependants access medical services under Medicare or their choice of private health insurance.
In some locations, the ADF Family Health Trial offers subsidies for basic health services and dental care. The website lists locations and has details on the registration process.

The ADF recognises that Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) use is a members’ health issue, requiring a health response. There are also administrative and or punitive aspects that may arise from a member’s AOD use. Family can be involved in treatment of members.
ADF Health runs two treatment programs: a four-day Out Patient Treatment Program and a four week Alcohol Rehabilitation and Education Program with family involvement.
