Defence Families of Australia has a vacancy in its team for 2012.
All Volunteer National Delegates are selected by the Convenor and appointed by the Minister responsible for Defence Personnel.
National Delegates are partners of current full time serving members of the Australian Defence Force, who possess knowledge, empathy and understanding of Defence Families. Previous experience with DFA is desirable, although not essential.
National Delegates work in a voluntary capacity. They represent the needs of Defence families therefore, are required to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Regional family groups, Local Command, and Managers of DHA, DCO, Defence support services, and Toll Transitions, as well as recognised Defence Community Groups in their region.
The role also requires two week-long meetings with the DFA executive in Canberra for training and the DFA National Conference.
This appointment will provide you with an opportunity to directly improve the quality of life for Defence Families and gain some unique professional development and experiences.
