Financial advice helps you make decisions about your money. Personal advice considers your own objectives, financial situation or needs, and then recommends strategies and one or more financial products to suit you.

Good advice from an experienced, well-informed financial adviser can help you save money and become more financially secure. However it is currently difficult to identify financial advisers that are independent.

The ADF Financial Services Consumer Council is currently working on a project aimed at making the process of finding a financial adviser easier for ADF members and Defence Families.

Keep an eye on the DFA and Council websites for the release of this new resource in 2011.
