  • Have you got a child at school in Sydney? DCO wants to know

The Defence Community Organisation Regional Education Liaison Officer (REDLO) is to provide information and resources to schools to educate them about the needs of the children of Defence members.

Moving from one school to another and sometimes having a parent absent due to deployment, training or exercises can impact on a child’s education. Schools need to be aware of this and know how they may help these children.

  • Cards for the Troops

Hunter Buddies, along with the Williamtown Umbrella Support Group and Tracey Hanshaw from card franchise Stampin' Up, have launched the 2011 Cards for the Troops project.

The idea behind this project is to send blank hand-made Christmas cards to ADF members deployed overseas. The troops fill in the card with a special message and then the cards are sent back to their loved ones here in Australia.

It is truly a lovely way to help support our brave troops and their families whilst they are overseas at this very special time of the year.
